Questions related to billing and credit cards

What is my billing address?
The billing address is the address where you get your credit card statement each month. It is very important that you enter your billing address correctly. If this address does not match the address your credit card company has on file, your order will NOT be process until this information is corrected.

[BACK]

Can I have my order shipped to a different address than the billing address for the credit card?
AT YOUR REQUEST, we will ship to an address other than your billing address ONLY if that address is an "approved shipping address" on file with your credit card company. If using American Express, we can ONLY ship to your billing address.

[BACK]

What cards to you accept?
We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express.

[BACK]

Can I mail in my order with a check or money order?
- If you would like to place an order with a check or money order, use our shopping cart to add in the items that you want to order. After you have finished adding the item/items you will be at the " view cart" with a list of your item/items. If you will scroll down just a bit you will see a link that reads " Print to order by fax or postal mail."
- Click this link which will take you to a form... at the top of the form it ask for your shipping preference & then you billing & shipping address. After you have filled in the correct information to ship your order to & selected your shipping preference (at the very top of that page) then click the continue button. This will bring up a screen with your order including the shipping charges. Print this and mail it along with your check or money order to the address listed under Mail on the form.
- We hold orders paid with a check until your check has had time to clear. That is about a week.

[BACK]

Why does my credit card not work, even though I know it's a good one?
- It could be that you have typed the number in wrong and/or the expiration date. It is very easy to make a typo so please double check the card number and the expiration date. Or perhaps you have just made a payment. Remember that it usually take a few days for payments to show up on your credit card account.
- Try another card. You may not be able to use that credit card. You may want to try to use a different credit card.
- Contact us. Occasionally we have maintenance performed on our systems. If this is the case credit card verification can not occur until the maintenance is finished. We may be able to offer a solution even if this is not the case.

[BACK]

What is the credit card verification code, and why is it important?

This is the 3 or 4 digit number located on the back or front of your charge card. On your Master Card, Visa, & Discover you will need to turn the card over to the back side. You will see a string of numbers either in or around the signature area. We need the 3-digit number at the end. This is you verification coed. On American Express the code is a 4-digit number on the front side of the card l, usually on the right side located right above the raised numbers of you account number.

In a nutshell this is important to you as well, as us. It shows that you have the card in your hand to help improve security for the consumer when buying something via mail, telephone and internet order, when the credit card is not physically presented to the merchant.

[BACK]

What name will appear on my credit card statement?

We will bill your charge card using our business name "Affections Gifts And Cards"

[BACK]

How do I get your High Heel Shoe Catalog?

We do not carry a printed catalog. Our manufacturers of our sexy footwear add new products and discontinue products 2 to 3 time per year. With as many manufacturers as we carry it would be close to impossible to keep an up to date catalog, but our on-line catalog is always up to date and is available 24/7.

[BACK]

Can you plain wrap my package?

We ship all of our orders either in a brown box or at times for smaller packages a bubble envelope. We do try to recycle our boxes so from time to time you might received a box that we have marked thing out with a magic marker but we just don't see trashing boxes just because they were used one time.

[BACK]

Shoe size Questions

Do you carry wide width shoes?

At the present time all of our shoes are a medium width or a "B" which is the same thing.

[BACK]

How do I know what size shoe I wear?

In our opinion, you should order the same size in high heel shoes as you would as you would order for any other shoes. What fits me might not fit you in the same size. All manufacturers say that all their shoes are true to size, but every different manufacturers shoes are just a little different in the way they are made but each one fits just a little different.
Just remember that we all have different feet.. Some are thin some are wide, some are puffy & some are not. No two feet are exactly like, so order the size that you usually wear and in most cases they will fit like a glove

What are shoes made of?

What is the difference between Patent, PVC, and Leather?

Patent material has a very shiny finish. PVC is man made material that looks like leather, but, is less expensive. It feels different than leather and looks more like patent leather. Leather is the highest quality (and expensive) material and it has a texture pattern. It is very comfortable and stretches to your size after wearing it awhile.

Patent Leather- leather with a hard glossy surface:
leather that has been treated with lacquer to give it a hard, glossy surface

PVC - Polyvinyl chloride, a polymer of vinyl chloride used to make a diverse range of
cost-effective products with various levels of technical performance suited to a wide range of applications. Many of these PVC products are used everyday and include everything from medical devices such as medical tubing and blood bags, to footwear, electrical cables; packaging, stationery, and toys.

Leather - an animal skin made smooth and flexible by removing the hair and then tanning
For the avoidance of all ambiguities and doubts, which may and do grow upon the definition and interpretation of this word leather, it is enacted, and declared by these presents, that the hides and skins of ox, steer, bull, cow, calf, deer, red and fallow, goats and sheep being tanned or tarred, and every salt hide is, shall be, and ever hath been reputed and taken for leather.

What is P.U.?

P.U. Stands for Polyurethane. Polyurethane is a man made material. Uses include: resistant coatings and electrical insulation. We use the material to make shoes. We can make shoes that look like and feel like real leather at a lesser cost.

Will PVC Stretch?

It will stretch (a little), but not as much or as quickly as leather. PVC is basically plastic-coated fabric, and is washable, as well as relatively inexpensive.

What is kidskin in regard to shoes and boots?

Soft smooth leather from the hide of a young goat; "kid gloves"

Some manufacturers use the term kidskin for the finish of a shoes that looks & feels like a smooth leather but it is not.

What material is the bottom sole pf the shoes made of?

The sole of these shoes are usually made with a slick shiny leather looking sole. We recommend purchasing a pair of non-slips with each pair of shoe that you order. We have started seeing some that are made with a slight grooved rubber sole that seem to be very effective in preventing slipping on a new pair of shoes but this is not the standard.

Do you carry high heels for men?

All the high heels and boots that we carry are women's shoes. But see the next question for the size to buy.

How do I convert from a women's size to man's size?

High heel shoes fit differently. Our best rule of thumb is two size increases. A man's size 11 D converts to a woman's size 13 M. You might have to adjust from there based on the width of your foot. All our shoes are women's medium width only. Check out our size charts for assistance.

My heel taps are wearing out fast!

Sometimes the taps on the heels will wear our. Depending on how much you wear the shoes and what you do when you are wearing them. I know that if you are dancing a lot I always have one that will wear rather quickly. If not replaced, you chance falling if you should hit something slick and fall or catch it on something and then trip and fall. You can either go to the shoe repair or have them replace them for probably $10.00 or more or you can replace them your self. Just buy the tap & pull out the worn one using a pair of pliers and just slip the new ones in. A rubber mallet with help with this task.

[BACK]

There is small spot of glue, how do I get it off?

Ordinary lighter fluid applied to a soft clean white rag will remove the glue. Just use a small amount at a time.

[BACK]

How do I walk in high heels?

To look graceful when walking high heels, take small steps. Do not take a long stride as you walk. It is also important to come down on the ball of your foot when you step. Do not walk on your heels. Walk on you toes. Even though our heels are reinforced, putting your body weight directly on the heels may cause problems. If it is your first pair of high heels we suggest you start with a low heel and work your way up. Practice at home. Remember, spiked heels can dent some linoleum floors. Beware of walking on high carpet, the carpet is uneven and makes it hard to balance.

[BACK]

Is it harder to walk in a 6 inch heel versus 2 inch?

YES! There is a big difference in the way you carry yourself. Practice at home. Once you master the art, you will never forget how.

[BACK]

What if strap is too short / long?

If the strap is too short, we are sorry. We try to create a universal length that will work for everyone. We do not have different size straps available. There is a possibility that your local shoe repair could insert a piece of elastic. If the strap is too long, that is easy. Simply place the strap on a piece of wood (finished side down). With a small nail, use a hammer to punch as many new openings as you need. Then cut the excess length off and seal the edge with super glue (it will dry clear).

[BACK]

Will the shoes match my outfit?

Describing a color is very difficult. We try to make our images as color accurate as possible. There is no right or wrongs in fashion, if it makes you feel good, then it is right. If you are really worried about the color matching go with a black, silver, clear, or white.

[BACK]

What is a good size heel if you have never worn high heels before

Whether you are male or female your first pair of high heels can be an exciting experience but with all the different sizes of high heels on the market we suggest starting with the lowest 1" or 2" or even 3" heel. Wear those several times until you are feeling confidant in your ability to balance and walk with sexy confidence in each step. Feel like you are gliding across the room. Once you have gotten this far it's time to go up and 1". Move up slowly. Remember that once you have conquered the 4" heels you can jump to the 6" heels with a 2" platform. Think about it. They are the same just with the platform (of course this is all together different balancing act but take your time and I'm sure you will soon be the walking like the sexy diva in your own high heels shoes.

[BACK]

Where can i find some cheap stiletto heels?

We carry what would be consider and average priced high heel shoes. These are not designer shoes so the prices are not at all expensive. Many of the styles we carry are imported from over seas so these do carry a less expensive price tag. A couple of brands we are made in the USA which makes them more expensive but the quality is excellent and in most cases they will last a little longer.

[BACK]

How to remove scuff marks on your expensive shoes?

How you remove the scuff marks on your shoes depends on the fabric the shoes are made out of. If they are leather, you can remove the scuffs by rubbing the scuff with non-gel toothpaste, rinse, wipe and let dry. If they are vinyl or plastic, you can remove the marks by rubbing them with a pencil eraser and if that doesn't?t work, try a non-gel toothpaste and toothbrush or try using lighter fluid. If they are canvas, you can scrub them using upholstery cleaner, cleanser or a non-gel toothpaste. Air dry.

[BACK]

What if I get a pair of high heel boots and when I try taking them off my foot is stuck in them?

Although this is rare I have had several gentlemen call after trying on a pair of thigh high boots saying that they can't get them off.

After wearing boots for even a short time. Your feet and legs will sweat and some people have a slight swelling of the feet. This can cause boots or shoes for that matter, to fit tighter especially if the boots started out fitting a little snug. Our best suggestion is to prop your feet up. This will help with the swelling. You might try putting some powder down in the boots to absorb some of the dampness. If you can, find a friend that can help you pull out of them.

I would NOT suggest try any kind of oil. This will probably either permanently damage or stain the boots.

Baby dolls: Shoes with a type of toe box that is very rounded like a little girl's shoe.

Ballet heels: They are heels which are so high that the only part of the toe that touches the ground is the tip, much ballet dancer's toe shoes. The heels are usually 7" high, but with a tiny platform under the toe they can be as high as 17" You can't really walk in these shoes, they're just for enjoyment.

Ballet shoes: The highest most extreme high heel where the foot only contacts the floor at the toe tips.

Ballet Shoes/boots: Shoes and boots in various designs with the common specialty that you stand on the tip of your toes instead of on the balls of your feet as with ordinary high heels. These are almost exclusively used in scenes and/or in the bedroom.

Platform high heel: A platform heel is a 4 or 5 inch high heel in which a 2 or 3 inch platform has been added under the ball of the foot. Because the platform adds inches from the ground to the bottom of the foot the height of the heels must get higher. Example: It sounds complicated but it's really pretty simple. A 6" platform is a 4" heel + the 2" added to it because there is a 2" base added to the front part of the shoe. ( 4+ 2 = 6)

Slip On's: Usually the height of the heel keeps your foot in place (gravity).

Spike Heels: see stiletto heels above, these have platforms.

Stiletto Heel: very high heels that come to a very small contact patch on the floor.

Platform Shoe Facts:
Lets face it, high heel shoes are not the most practical invention ever created. So why do they have such a dedicated following? You could say that if you have to ask, then you just don't get it. There are however, specific reasons for the attraction. It is a well known fact that wearing high heel shoes makes the foot appear smaller, elongates and slims the appearance of a woman's legs, and at the same time her altered stance forces her breasts up and makes her rear end protrude 25% more. This position is also forcing the foot into a tiptoe position (the "courtship strut") which is known to be a sign of availability in several animal species. This presents signs of both availability and submissiveness due to the wearers forced attention to balance and required shorter stride. The foot is also put in an arched position that many women find is similar to during sex. The high heel shoe elevates the wearer as if they have been put on a pedestal. This gives the woman an increase in confidence not only because of several inches added to her height, but because high heels will get her significantly more attention, and even the act of putting them on will make them feel more sexy. There is an unusual balance of power and weakness in the wearing of high heels. The high heel shoe is the only object to gain the highest level of popularity in the fetish world. This is partly due to the fact that high heel shoes are like works of art in themselves, like small sleek curvy exotic sexy sculptures. They have always been in style, despite what some trendy fashion magazines may say, changing their minds every few months. Clothing items don't have the visual fetish appeal without the wearers’ body filling out the curves, but shoes stand on their own as coveted fetish objects. There are countless people who collect exotic high heel shoes worldwide. As a sculptor of giant and miniature high heel shoe sculptures, I find that my shoe sculptures get the most attention from the press and shoe devotees around the world. It also seems that red is by far the most popular fetish shoe color, but that’s a whole different story. Bruce Gray

HISTORY

There is a history section about high heels that is fairly comprehensive and has over 30 pictures of old high heels shoes. For serious history buffs, the best source about the history of shoes and high heels that I have seen to date is a little, chunky 507-page book titled Shoe by Linda O'Keeffe.

[ BACK ]

Why should I change my shoes daily?

Your feet perspire daily, and you should let your shoes dry out after a days wear. This is important to foot health, as different shoes have different "pressure Points", and wearing the same pair of shoes every day helps make certain that your feet don't become accustomed to only one set of these "pressure points". Your shoes will also wear longer if you allow them to dry out between wearing! Also, by allowing your shoes to dry out, you don't promote the growth of fungus in your shoes or on your feet!

[BACK]

Are your shoe sizes true to size?

Do not rely on a specific size of shoe to fit the same from one shoe to another! Shoes will not fit the same!! Athletic shoes generally run 1/2 size smaller than a leather walking shoe. Work boots usually run larger than walking shoes. Also, there are many sets of hands that touch a shoe during the manufacturing process, and this can lead to different fit characteristics. Our suggestion is: Don't get size conscious, get the shoe that feels the best.

[BACK]

Why are my feet bigger than before?

There are many reasons why feet may change sizes. If your feet swell during the day, your shoes may tend to feel tighter as the day progresses. As you age, the tendons in your feet have a tendency to stretch, thus making your feet larger. Increased body weight can also make your feet stretch.
